TAMPA, Fla.- The Eckerd men's basketball team dropped a contest to North Georgia, 79-59, on the second day of the Tampa Classic at the Bob Martinez Center on Sunday.
Eckerd jumped out to a slight edge over the first six minutes of the game before the Nighthawks rolled off 14 straight points to take a nine-point lead. Following a 12-6 run, Eckerd cut its deficit to one at the 5:33 mark before UNG took a 38-33 favor at the break.
UNG opened the second half with five straight points to take a double-digit lead. The Nighthawks maintained between a seven and 11-point favor over the next 10 minutes before North Georgia scored 14 consecutive points for a 69-49 lead. UNG cruised the rest of the way to a 79-59 win.
