ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd men's basketball team cruised to a 20-point victory, 89-69, over Puerto Rico-Bayamon on Wednesday afternoon at the McArthur Center thanks to a 56.4 field goal percentage.
After trailing by seven early, Eckerd rolled off 12 consecutive points to take a 19-14 lead at the 10:24 mark. EC capped the half on a 17-4 run to take a 45-29 favor at intermission.
Eckerd pushed its lead to 20 points with 17:11 left in the second half. The Tritons' lead fluctuated between 12 to 24 points the rest of the way as they breezed to an 89-69 victory.
