Tritons Draw Buccaneers

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - The Eckerd women's soccer team added a pair of first-half goals to tie Barry, 2-2, Thursday afternoon at Buccaneer Field.

The Tritons opened up the scoring as Brooke Bisko stole the ball in the corner and found Kaia Senecal wide open at the corner of the box. Senecal buried the ball inside the right post to give the Tritons an early 1-0 lead. Eckerd was awarded a free kick in the 28th minute, where Aisling Spillane sent a high ball into the box to the head of Annie Stook, putting the ball into the top right corner to increase the Triton lead to two. The Bucs tallied a goal late in the half when Maya Campion scored on an empty net from a defensive error in the 37th minute. After the Bucs' goal, Cadence Talbert came up with a diving save in the bottom left with just over six minutes to go in the half. Three minutes later, Barry was awarded a free kick just outside of the box but was unable to convert as Talbert collected her third save of the half to keep Eckerd up 2-1 going into the break.

Barry opened up the half with offensive pressure, seeing some quality chances, but the Tritons' defense shut the Bucs down. After nearly 30 minutes of back-and-forth action, McKenna Barry Delong scored the equalizer for the Bucs. The Tritons could not tally another to regain the lead, as the game ended tied, 2-2.
