ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Despite a tight contest throughout the majority of the game, the Eckerd men's basketball team was unable to hold off a late Eagles' scoring flurry as they fell, 67-46, to Embry-Riddle Wednesday night at the McArthur Center.
The teams swapped a pair of large runs in the first half, with the Tritons ending the frame on an 11-0 stretch while holding the Eagles scoreless for the final 7:22 to take a 24-20 lead at the break.
Embry-Riddle evened the score at 24-24 to start the second half before the Tritons quickly regained the lead. The teams then swapped leads over the next seven minutes and remained tied at 37-37 with 9:50 remaining. ERAU then went on a 25-5 run over the next eight minutes before cruising to a 67-46 victory.
