LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The Eckerd men's soccer team dropped its season opener, a road contest at West Alabama, 2-0, Friday night at Tiger Stadium.
Neither team was able to generate a quality look on goal in the first half. However, the Tigers struck quickly in the second half as Killian Griffin found the back of the net in the 51st minute. UWA added an insurance goal 10 minutes later on a Peter Oyetunji strike.
EC's had opportunities on goal in the 58th minute following consecutive shots from Harry Laing and Zachary Ervanian, but the Tritons were unable to convert.
