Tritons Fall to Tampa

Tampa, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team traveled over the Howard Frankland Bridge to take on Tampa Thursday afternoon falling, 7-0, to the Spartans at the Naimoli & Young Complex.

The duo of Lili Reichert and Theo Schultz battled in the No. 2 draw, nearly earning the win over Tampa's Savannah Williams and Dakota Busch. However, Reichert and Schultz fell, 6-4, and the Spartans took the No. 1 and No. 3 slots, both by scores of 6-1, to sweep the double point. 

Tampa (1-4, 1-4 SSC) then took each of the six singles positions for the victory. 

Alexis Kwasnik battled early out of the No. 4 singles draw, taking four games in the first set before falling 6-4, 6-1. 

Reichert in the No. 3 slot and Angelina Kossoff in the No. 6 position both battled late, taking a pair of games in the second set. However, both Reichert and Kossoff fell by scores of 6-0, 6-2. 

Eckerd (0-5, 0-5 SSC) returns to action on Saturday with a trip to No. 4 Nova Southeastern slated for 2:00 PM.
