DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Playing in their second match of the season, the Eckerd men's tennis team fell to Embry-Riddle, 6-1, on the road Sunday afternoon.
Prakrut Patel paired with Pierre-Olivier Lassalle for a tight 7-6 (8-6) victory in No. 1 doubles. However, the Eagles (2-1) took the No. 2 and 3 seeds to collect the doubles point.
The duo have won both of their doubles matches this season and are a perfect 11-0 in their career together.
Patel picked up EC's lone victory in singles action. He took a thrilling first set 7-6 (10-8) before breezing in the second set, 6-2, over ERAU's Alexis Guedy in the No. 2 slot.
Lassalle nearly gave Eckerd (0-2, 0-2 SSC) another point out of the No. 1 singles slot, battling with Juan Ortiz Couder ultimately falling 7-5, 6-3.
Eckerd returns to action on Tuesday with a trip to No. 3 Saint Leo slated for 3:00 PM.
