FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Eckerd men's basketball team fell, 99-59, in an exhibition road match against Division 1 Florida Gulf Coast University Sunday night at Alico Arena.
Eckerd hung close with FGCU early on as a Daniel Love triple kept EC within three points, 10-7, heading into the first media timeout. The Eagles followed with an 11-0 run to take a double-digit lead, which they held the rest of the way to take a 47-27 lead at the break. The Eagles continued their strong shooting in the second half as they cruised throughout the stanza.

- Daniel Love nearly recorded a double-double with a team-high 19 points and nine rebounds.
- Atraiel Washington and Gianfranco Grafals round EC's double-digit scorers with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

- The Tritons shot 39.7 percent from the floor compared to FGCU's 48.8 percent.
