ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd men's soccer team equalized early in the second half on a Ty Dolan goal. Neither team was able to put away the golden goal in either overtime as the game ended in a 1-1 draw with Embry-Riddle Saturday night at Johnson Field.
Eckerd had a hard time finding a quality look on goal in the opening half. The Eagles added a goal one minute before the half as Olav Aamlid converted on a long cross from the left side of the box as the Eagles took a 1-0 lead into halftime.Â
Dolan equalized quickly into the second half for the Tritons, heading in a free-kick from Joao Gouevia on the far post. Gouevia nearly sent in the game-winner in the 62nd minute, but his attempt was turned back by ERAU's Jack Crichton.Â
Blake Bauer had a close-range shot for the golden goal in the 97th minute, but his shot was turned back as EC and ERAU entered the second overtime. Â
Eckerd found a last-minute look on goal as Dolan nearly added the game-winner with 30 seconds left. He fired a shot from the top of the 18, but it deflected off an Eagle defender and missed the right post by inches.Â
