DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Eckerd volleyball team used a balanced scoring attack for a 3-1 Sunshine State Conference road victory at Embry-Riddle Friday night.
EC jumped out to a 7-2 advantage in the opening set and controlled the set the rest of the way to take it 25-21. The Tritons breezed in the second frame, 25-16. ERAU began the third set on a 9-1 stretch to jump ahead early before taking the set, 25-21.
The Eagles took a slight edge early in the fourth, but Eckerd responded to tie the score before taking a late 22-19 advantage. The Eagles rallied to tie the game at 24-24, but the Tritons forced a pair of ERAU errors to seal the match.

NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Rachel Wisian and Ranya Mehta led Eckerd with 11 kills each. The pair also hit over .300, with Wisian hitting at a .308 clip and Mehta hitting .318 percent.
- Krysten Garrison finished one kill shy of a triple-double with 41 assists, 11 digs, and nine kills.
- Joelle Coulter and Nicki Bechtold led the EC defense with 16 digs apiece. Coulter nearly logged a double-double adding eight kills.
- Cecilia Robert tied her career-high with 15 digs. She added seven kills and three aces.
- Aleksa Curta posted a career-high 10 digs.
- Eckerd handed Embry-Riddle just its second loss of the season.
