ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd women's soccer team fell in a conference matchup against Barry, 2-0, in its season finale Saturday night at Johnson Field.
Eckerd's offense created chances in the early going, with four shots on goal in the first 17 minutes of the match as
Aisling Spillane and
Lashanti Williams had two apiece. The Buccaneers had two chances themselves early on, one by Ari Cerezuela and the other by Lauren Hall. Cerezuela fired a shot from midfield in the 23rd minute that found the back of the net for a 1-0 Barry lead.
Barry added its second goal in the 55th minute off a rebound shot by Hall on a corner kick to go up to 2-0. EC managed three more shots on goal in the half but was unable to convert.
