Eckerd Falls to Nova Southeastern, 3-1

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Martin Aanestad equalized for the Tritons early in the second half. However, Nova Southeastern added a pair of goals in the final seven minutes to defeat the Eckerd men's soccer team, 3-1, Saturday night at Johnson Field.

The Sharks opened the game aggressively, registering six shots inside the opening 20 minutes before Tino Miguez converted on a corner kick in the 20th minute. Eckerd had only one look on goal in the opening half as they entered halftime trailing 1-0.

Aanestad made it a 1-1 game in the 54th minute. Ty Dolan took a free-kick from 30 yards out into the box, where Frederik Klausen headed the ball to Annestad just inside the 18, and he one-timed it into the back of the net.

Eckerd pressed with two close-range shots in the next ten minutes but was unable to convert. Matty Cornish added the go-ahead goal with a shot from the left of the box in the 84th minute before Milos Christoforou converted on a penalty kick goal two minutes later for an insurance goal.
