ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd women's tennis team came up short on Monday afternoon as they dropped a match against Walsh (Ohio), 5-2, at the Bullard Courts.
Taylor Selby and
Lili Reichert won three sets in No. 1 doubles as well as
Cassidy Lear and
Alexis Kwasnik in No. 3 doubles, but they were unable to top Walsh (6-2) as they swept the Tritons (1-4) in doubles play.
Theo Schultz (6-4, 6-2) and
Angelina Kossoff (2-6, 7-6 (7-3), 10-7) picked up victories in singles competition. However, EC ultimately fell to the Cavaliers as Walsh took four singles matches. Reichert battled in No. 2 singles along with Lear in the No. 5 spot, but they both dropped a pair of tight three-set matches.
The Tritons remain at home as they host Davis & Elkins (W.V.) on Friday at 2:00 PM.
