ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team fell to No. 5 Nova Southeastern, 7-0, in the 2020 season opener on Friday at the Bullard Courts.
The Sharks (6-0, 3-0 SSC) swept doubles to earn a point, then defeated the Tritons in all six singles matches.
Playing together for the first time,
Taylor Selby and
Lili Reichert managed to take two games from the topped-ranked doubles pair in the country of Natalie Espinal and Sarah Wardenburg but fell 6-2.
Junior
Angelina Kossoff battled early at No. 6 singles against Caitlyn Khan before losing 6-3, 6-0.
The Tritons (0-1, 0-1 SSC) return to the court on Tuesday, hosting Saint Leo at 3:00 PM.
