MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – A dominant second quarter helped lead the Eckerd women's basketball team to a season sweep of Barry with a 74-57 victory Saturday afternoon at the Health & Sports Center. The Tritons collected their 10th Sunshine State Conference win in the process as they sit second in the conference.
Octavia Loll led Eckerd with 15 points and scored her 1,000th career point as she laid in a bucket just before halftime.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Buccaneers jumped out early with a quick 7-2 run over the first two minutes of the game. Eneritz Larranaga answered for the Tritons with a triple, but Barry hit a jumper and a 3-pointer to keep its seven-point lead. A Maya Price jumper sparked an 8-0 stretch as Eckerd took a 13-12 lead at the 1:14 mark. The teams traded baskets over the final minute, but a jumper from Octavia Loll gave EC a 17-16 lead heading into the second quarter.
- Loll laid in a basket to start the second quarter sending Eckerd on a 10-0 run over the first five minutes the period. Barry's Carly Sanders answered with a layup that led to a 6-2 run, but Abby Whiteye answered with a triple followed by a fastbreak jumper from Price as Eckerd took a 34-22 lead. Thirty seconds later, Price laid in another jumper and Larranaga followed with a layup to put the Tritons up by 15 points. Loll laid in another basket to send Eckerd into halftime with a 42-28 lead.
- Barry's Harriett Swindells opened the third quarter with a 3-pointer. Loll answered with a layup for EC, and a minute later, she followed with a jumper to send the Tritons on an 11-3 run as Eckerd took a 19 point lead at 55-36. Two free throws from Loll and a fastbreak layup from Mikayla Kuehne gave the Tritons a 59-38 lead to end the third quarter.
- Barry opened the fourth with a 9-5 run, but a pair of free throws from Brooke Juday and a layup from Kuehne built the EC lead back to 21. Mar Ibern laid in a basket two minutes later to give the Tritons their largest lead of the game with 23 points. The teams traded baskets over the final minute as Eckerd maintained its commanding lead for their 14th victory this season.
NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Loll led EC with 15 points. Whiteye and Larranaga added 14 and 13 points, respectively.
- Loll's 1,000 point milestone was reached between her time at Charleston (W.V.) and Eckerd, with 481 points coming in a Triton uniform.

- Eckerd shot 48.4 percent from the field while holding Barry to just 36.4 percent.
