ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Mikayla Kuehne led the Triton offense with a career-high 21 points as the Eckerd women's basketball team cruised to a 69-55 victory over Lynn at the McArthur Center Saturday afternoon.

KEY MOMENTS
- Lynn opened the game with a 6-2 run to take an early lead. However, EC answered with 10 straight points to claim a 12-6 lead. With two minutes remaining in the quarter, Brooke Juday hit a 3-pointer sending the Tritons on an 8-2 scoring run to end the quarter with a 22-10 lead.
- Fighting Knights' Dani Lozzi drained a triple to start the second quarter, but Octavia Loll answered with a layup to send the Tritons on a 14-4 run. The teams traded points for the remainder of the quarter. Mikayla Kuehne nailed a triple from the top of the key just before the half, allowing Eckerd to go into the half with a 17 point lead at 43-26.
- Following a layup from Eneritz Larranaga just two minutes into the half, the Tritons strung together a 12-4 scoring stretch. Lynn answered with seven straight points of their own, but another layup from Loll and a free throw from Kuehne kept EC on top by 19 points as they took a 58-39 lead to end the third.
- The Tritons came out strong in the fourth quarter as Kuehne and Larranaga hit back-to-back 3-pointers. Kuehne hit another triple a minute later to give Eckerd its largest lead of the game of 26 points. The Fighting Knights battled back with a 14-2 run to end the game, but Eckerd breezed to a 14-point victory.
NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Kuehne's 21 points set a career-high while Zoe Richards added 12 points.
- Larranaga led EC with a career-high eight rebounds as Eckerd held a 36-28 advantage on the boards. Richards added seven rebounds and Loll posted six.
- Richards and Loll each grabbed three steals as well.
- The Tritons had 40 points in the paint compared to Lynn's 24.
- Eckerd shot 50.9 percent from field goal range and 83.3 percent from the free throw line. EC has now shot 50.0 percent or above for the seventh time this season.
