KEY MOMENTS
- The Tritons opened the games scoring with three straight 3-pointers to take an early 9-0 lead. The Sailfish answered with four consecutive points, but a jumper from Eneritz Larranaga stopped the Sailfish run. A layup from Octavia Loll sparked an 18-2 run for EC over the next four minutes as the Tritons took a 29-9 lead. Palm Beach Atlantic scored six straight points to end the first quarter, but Eckerd held a commanding 29-9 lead.
- Larranaga hit a jumper to start the second quarter, but PBA answered with an 8-3 run to cut Eckerd's lead down to 11 points. Larranaga and Mar Ibern answered, hitting back-to-back triples to build EC's lead back to 17 points with 6:47 left. The teams traded points until a steal from Larranaga and a fast-break layup from Brooke Juday sent the Tritons on a 13-6 stretch into halftime as they held a 57-34 lead.
- Loll laid in a basket for EC to start the third period, followed by a jumper from Larranaga as the Tritons continued to build on their lead. The teams then traded baskets through most of the quarter. At the 3:25 mark, two free throws and a jumper from Maya Price sent Eckerd on a 13-2 run into the end of the third quarter as EC maintained a sizable 83-42 advantage.
- Claire Bady made two free throws for the Sailfish to start the fourth quarter, but Zoe Richards followed with a basket sending EC on a 19-3 run over the next five minutes. Sia Williams and Victoria Self answered with back-to-back triples for Palm Beach Atlantic before the end of the quarter as the Tritons came away with a convincing 102-53 victory.
NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Larranaga led EC with a career-high 25 points. She went 10-for-12 from the field and 5-for-7 from the perimeter. Price followed with a career-high 21 points while Loll and Juday rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11 points each.
- Price posted her first career double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
- Loll tied her season-high with seven assists.
- The Tritons shot well with a 58.8 field goal percentage, including a 61.2 percent clip in the second half. They also shot 62.5 percent from 3-point range in the first half and finished the afternoon at 48.1 percent.
- Eckerd eclipsed the century mark for the second time this season and just the fifth time in program history.
- EC has now topped Palm Beach Atlantic in its last seven matchups.
- Eckerd had 33 points from turnovers compared to Palm Beach Atlantic's 10.
