WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Eckerd men's basketball team shot a season-high 59.2 percent to snap its six-game skid as they handled Rollins, 75-65, at the Alfond Sports Center Saturday afternoon.
Eckerd took a four-point lead into halftime and used an early 7-1 run to start the second half. The Tritons stayed in control the rest of the way for the SSC win over the Tars.

KEY MOMENTS
- The teams traded baskets to start the game before Eckerd grabbed a slight four-point favor following a Kristiyan Stavrev triple at the 14:25 mark. Eckerd and Rollins traded the lead six times over the next 10 minutes before an Admir Radoncic layup with 5:22 left sparked an 8-0 Triton run to push them up by seven before EC entered the half with a 35-31 lead.
- A Travis Bianco triple ignited a 7-1 run to start the second half for the Tritons as they pushed ahead by 10 early in the period. The Tars quickly responded with seven consecutive points to pull within three with 15:13 left, but EC quickly answered with back-to-back 3-pointers by Stavrev and Bianco.
- The Tritons pushed their lead to 13 on a Radoncic layup with just under seven minutes left as EC maintained a double-digit lead for the next six minutes. The Tars pulled within seven at the 1:13 mark, but Eckerd kept Rollins at a distance for a 75-65 win.
NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Bianco led Eckerd with 23 points while Radoncic added 21. Malcolm Whitlow and Stavrev rounded out the double-digit scorers with 13 and 11 points, respectively.
- Radoncic led the Tritons on the boards with nine rebounds while Bianco grabbed six.
- EC distributed the ball well for 24 assists as Whitlow and O'Shane Taylor-Douglas dished out eight apiece.
- Phillip Cirillo grabbed a career-high four steals.
- Eckerd shot 59.2 percent from the field and 61.1 (11-for-18) percent from beyond the arc, which are both season-highs. Bianco led the way from 3-point range with six triples.
