ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - A dominant effort highlighted the final non-conference match for the Eckerd women's tennis team on Monday as the Tritons swept Ave Maria (Fla.) at the Bullard Courts.
Eckerd (6-11) did not drop a set the entire match and only lost six games in total across doubles and singles.
Cassidy Lear and
Angelina Kossoff wasted little time in taking a 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles. Moments later,
Taylor Selby and
MaryAnn Aaron finished off a 6-0 win at No. 1 to clinch the doubles point.
Bailey Koronich and
Theo Schultz finished the doubles sweep with a 6-2 victory at No. 2.
Four Tritons earned perfect 6-0, 6-0 wins in singles play: Koronich, Schultz, Lear, and Kossoff. Â Selby notched a 6-1, 6-1 win over Camila Branster at No. 1 singles while Aaron scored a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles.
The Tritons return to the courts on Thursday, hosting Rollins College at 3:00 PM for the final home match of the season.
