DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Despite a win at No. 1 doubles, the Eckerd men's tennis team was unable to capitalize on the road against Embry-Riddle falling to the Eagles, 7-0.
Alasdair Knox and
Prakrut Patel outlasted Alexis Guedy and Andrej Omeragic for a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles, but by then the Eagles had already clinched the point with wins at Nos. 2 and 3.
ERAU (5-8, 2-2 SSC) then won the top three singles matches to secure the match victory.
Patel went into his third straight third-set tiebreaker at No. 4 singles taking on Omeragic. Patel cruised in the first set, 6-1, before Omeragic tied the match with a 6-2 win in the second set and held off Patel for a 10-6 win in the tiebreaker.
Sam Walker also won his first set at No. 6 singles and ended up in a tiebreaker, but fell short to Blake Rhoweder, 10-2.
The Tritons (7-6, 0-5 SSC) return home on Sunday to host Florida Southern at 1:00 PM.
