FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team saw its season come to an end on Sunday with a 7-0 loss at No. 7 Nova Southeastern.
The Sharks (19-2, 7-2 SSC) took all three doubles contests to take the first point. Â
MaryAnn Aaron and
Taylor Selby hung with Diane Follin-Arbelet and Isabella Lowrey at No. 1 doubles before falling, 6-3;
Bailey Koronich and
Theo Schultz lost by the same score at No. 2 doubles.
NSU went on to win all six singles matches in straight sets including 6-0, 6-0 victories at the top three positions. Schultz lost a 6-3 decision in the first set to Caitlyn Khan at No. 4 singles before dropping the second, 6-1.
The contest brought an end to the careers of Aaron,
Madeline Carlson, and
Gabrielle Hartman. Â Aaron earned six singles wins and seven doubles wins in her final season.
Eckerd finishes the season with a record of 6-14 overall and 0-10 in Sunshine State Conference play.
