WINTER PARK, Fla. - The Eckerd men's tennis team took a 6-1 loss at No. 16 Rollins College on Friday afternoon.
Will Stone and
Matt Spasic earned a win at No. 2 doubles outlasting Nicolo De Fraia and Frederick Danielson, 6-4, but the Tars won at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles by matcing 6-3 scores to take the doubles point.
Stone and Spasic improved to 12-4 on the season with their win.
Prakrut Patel jumped ahead of Ziad Melhaoui at No. 4 singles, 3-0, before Melhaoui retired to give Patel his 10th singles win of the spring.
Rollins (14-5, 3-3 SSC) took the remaining singles matches in straight sets, though Stone and Guillermo Nicolas contested in a close battle at No. 2 with Nicolas holding on for a 6-4 win in the first set and a 7-6 (7-4) win in the second set.
Eckerd (8-8, 0-7 SSC) travels to face No. 1 Barry University on Saturday for the final match of the regular season.
