WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team saw a three-match win streak come to an end on Wednesday at Palm Beach Atlantic as the Sailfish completed a 7-0 sweep of the Tritons at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center.
PBA (10-5, 1-2 SSC) won all three doubles matches by 6-1 scores before claiming wins in the six singles contests.
Theo Schultz took the first set from Consuela VanGrinsven at No. 4 singles, 6-3, but saw the match extended into a third-set tiebreaker after VanGrinsven won the second set, also 6-3. Â Schultz tried to fight back from behind but ultimately fell short in the tiebreaker, 10-5.
The conference path gets no easier for Eckerd (5-8, 0-4 SSC) on Wednesday when the Tritons visit No. 3 Saint Leo.
