ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team was dominant from start to finish on Monday, picking up its second sweep of the year with a 7-0 defeat of visiting Franklin Pierce (N.H.) at the Bullard Courts.
The Tritons (5-7) didn't drop a set in either doubles or singles on the way to their third straight win.
All three doubles teams won their matches with 6-1 scores as EC went into singles play with a 1-0 lead. Â Eckerd quickly clinched the match with wins at the top three singles spots.
Bailey Koronich was nearly flawless in a 6-0, 6-0 defeat of Sarah Rich at No. 3 singles. Â
Taylor Selby won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 singles before
MaryAnn Aaron scored the winning point at No. 2 singles over Grayson LaCroix 7-5, 6-0.
Theo Schultz and
Cassidy Lear also recorded 6-0, 6-0 victories in their singles contests while Kossoff dropped only one game in a 6-1, 6-0 win.
Eckerd is back on the court on Tuesday, hosting Ave Maria (Fla.) at 1:00 PM.
