Case Named to SSC All-Newcomer Team

MELBOURNE, Fla. – Sydney Case was selected to the All-Sunshine State Conference Newcomer Team in the all-conference awards released on Tuesday, November 26.

Case, a sophomore from Lakeville, Minnesota, finished the season with 1,158 assists at an average of 10.16 per set, which both rank second in the SSC. Case also averaged 1.81 digs per set and posted seven double-doubles this season.

She is just the seventh Triton to record over 1,000 assists in a season.

Case posted a career-high 65 assists in a five-set win over Barry (October 26) and nearly posted a triple-double in the season finale with a 45 assist, 12 dig, and nine-block performance at Palm Beach Atlantic (November 23).

She was named the SSC Setter of the Week twice this season (September 9 and October 7).

Case adds to the list of postseason accolades in her career as she was named the Summit League Setter of the Year and Freshman of the Year last season at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

Tampa's Katie McKiel was named SSC Player of the Year, while Sam Wolf of Palm Beach Atlantic collected both Freshman of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. Lynn's Adam Milewski earned SSC Coach of the Year.
