Wisian Earns SSC Defensive Player of the Week Honors

MELBOURNE, Fla. – After posting 16 blocks over two games last week, Rachel Wisian has been named the Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

The sophomore from Georgetown, Texas, totaled 16 blocks at an average of 1.60 per set while adding 24 kills over a pair of five-set matches.

On Friday, Wisian led Eckerd with six blocks and 13 kills in a comeback win over Barry. She followed on Saturday with the first double-double of her career posting 11 kills and 10 blocks at Palm Beach Atlantic.

Wisian's 10 blocks on Saturday were the most by a Triton in a game since September 10, 2016. Eckerd recorded 18 blocks in the match, which is the most by a team since November 15, 2016.
