ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. –
Sarah Johnshoy collected another academic achievement accolade after being named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team Thursday afternoon.
The middle blocker from Appleton, Wisconsin, has a 3.95 grade point average in Environmental Studies. Johnshoy has started all 27 matches this season while averaging 2.10 kills and 0.80 blocks per set. She posted a career-high 17 kills while hitting an impressive .467 in a five-set win over Barry (Oct. 26).
Johnshoy has been a staple in the Triton lineup, starting 87 matches over her career while posting 635 kills and 236 total blocks.
She is a three-time recipient of the SSC Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll award and earned the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award in September.
Johnshoy now moves onto the Academic All-American ballot, which will be announced in early December.
Eckerd 18-9 (9-7 SSC) has two weeks left in the regular season, traveling to Lynn tomorrow for a 6:00 PM start.
The 2019 Academic All-District® Volleyball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
