ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Despite an early goal from
Agustin Pertusso, the Eckerd men's soccer team gave up two goals in the first-half and ultimately dropped the match against Rollins, 2-1, Saturday night at Johnson Field.

KEY MOMENTS
- Rollins opened the game with an aggressive start as Christian Adams fired a close-range shot just 20 seconds in, but Lynden Dawson was there to make a diving save. The Tars continued their early attack with another three shots inside the first five minutes.
- The Tritons countered the Tars opening attack with an Agustin Pertusso goal in the seventh minute. Jake Willets delivered a set piece to Max Scherer on the far side of the box. Scherer then volleyed the ball to Pertusso in the middle of the box, where he rifled it into the left side for an early 1-0 lead.
- Rollins evened the score on a Georgios Koliniatis goal in the 22nd minute. Koliniatias collected a clearance off Adams' shot inside the box and touched it into the left side of the net for the equalizer.
- Michael Landau sent in the go-ahead goal for the Tars in the 34th minute. Landau one-timed a pass from the right side into the lower left of the goal to put Rollins up 2-1.
- Enrique Mejias gave EC a look on goal early in the second half with a shot to the lower-left corner, but his shot was turned back by keeper Maximillian Obermeier.
- Pertusso and Willets gave Eckerd a pair of opportunities in the 64th and 80th minutes, but neither shot was able to find the back of the net.

- Rollins held a 14-8 advantage in shots and 8-2 favor in shots on goal.
- Dawson collected six saves in goal.
- Despite the loss, Eckerd still sits in third place in the conference standings.
