ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – For the second time this season, the Eckerd men's soccer team played to a draw with a nationally-ranked opponent as the Tritons shut out No. 5 Florida Tech at Johnson Field. Neither team was able to find the back of the net Wednesday night as the match ended in a 0-0 draw.

KEY MOMENTS
- Eckerd had a quality chance early in the game as Enrique Mejias took a shot from the top of the 18 in the 12th minute, but Florida Tech keeper Jason Fesquest made a diving save.
- In the 23rd minute, Guillermo Segovia looked to have put the Panther's on the board, sending a ball inside the left post. However, the goal was called off due to Segovia being offside.
- Florida Tech had a good look on goal in the 35th minute firing off two consecutive shots. Lynden Dawson turned back the first shot on frame while the second shot missed high.
- Agustin Pertusso gave Eckerd an opportunity early in the second half. He fired a long-distance strike in the 51st minute, but Fesquest turned back Pertusso's shot.
- Braden Bradford placed a shot on frame in the 65th minute with a header inside the box, but again Fesquest turned back the attempt.
- Neither team was able to create a quality chance on goal for the remainder of the half as the teams headed into overtime scoreless.
- Ty Dolan nearly ended the game for Eckerd in the 96th minute as he broke free down the right side. Dolan rifled a shot to the right side from inside the box, but Fesquest made the key save.
- Hiroo Kimura gave EC a final look in the 110th minute, but his shot from the top of the 18 missed high.
NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Tonight was Eckerd's third overtime match this season. The Tritons tied No. 12 Francis Marion on Sept. 28 and lost to West Alabama on Sept. 13.
- Florida Tech outshot Eckerd 17-12 with a slight favor (5-4) in shots on goal.
- Dawson posted his second shutout of the season while collecting five saves.
- Eckerd sits in fourth place in the conference with seven points.
