ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd volleyball team took an early lead following a tight first set victory but dropped the next three sets in a 3-1 loss to Lynn Saturday afternoon at the McArthur Center.

KEY MOMENTS
- The opening of the first set remained tight as the teams traded rallies before Lynn edged in front at 11-8. LU maintained a four-point lead until Eckerd pulled within one at 15-14 following back-to-back Sydney Case aces. The Tritons followed with a 3-0 scoring run capped by an Agata Sklepik kill to pull ahead 20-19. The teams traded the next several rallies before EC took the set at 25-23 on a Sklepik swing.
- Eckerd jumped out to an early 6-2 lead in the second set. The Tritons maintained a slight edge until Lynn rolled off five straight points to pull ahead 18-16 late in the set. Two points later, an Asya Harris kill evened the score at 18-18 for EC. The Knights took the set 25-21 following a 6-2 run to end the set.
- The first few rallies remained close before LU scored four consecutive points to take an early 6-2 lead. The Knights' lead fluctuated between three and five points over the next stretch before Eckerd went on a 6-1 run to take a 14-13 lead. Lynn went on a late 5-1 run to take a 22-18 lead before taking the set 25-21 on a Triton error.
- A Harris kill opened the final set as Eckerd took an early 4-3 advantage. The teams traded a pair of three-point rallies before Lynn went on a 4-1 run to take a 13-9 lead. The Knights held a comfortable lead for the remainder of the set and took the match at 25-15 following a 6-1 scoring stretch.
NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Sklepik posted her fifth double-double of the season with 10 kills and 13 digs.
- Harris led the Eckerd attack with 12 kills.
- Luana Rezende paced the back-row with 17 digs.
