MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - The Eckerd Men's soccer team opened up conference play on Saturday night with a trip to Barry. Despite an early look in the 22nd minute, Eckerd dropped the match, 2-0.

KEY MOMENTS
- Eckerd had an early look on goal in the 22nd minute as Juan David Tejada worked his way through the Buccaneer defense and fired off two shots. However, both shots were turned back by the Buccaneer defense and keeper Marco Sordi.
- Barry quickly countered the attack sending in a goal in the 30th minute as Flavio Colasanti sent in the goal on a shot from 20 yards out on the right side.
- Eckerd worked the ball into their attacking third near the end of the first half as Robert Carter ripped a shot in the 34th minute, but Sordi was there for the save. Pedro Galvao and Agustin Pertusso both fired shots in the 43rd and 44th minutes but both shots sailed high as Eckerd went into the half trailing 1-0.
- Barry came out of the half aggressive scoring in the 48th minute on a Francisco Aguirre goal. Barry maintained its attack taking another five shots over the next 15 minutes with David Ormiston turning back all three on goal.
- Eckerd pressed the ball into Bucs territory taking four corner kicks over a six-minute span starting in the 65th minute but the Tritons were unable to obtain a look on goal.
- Max Scherer took two shots in the final 10 minutes of regulation but both shots were blocked as the Tritons dropped the match.
NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Eckerd was outshot in the match, 19-9, and 7-3 in shots on goal.
- Ormiston collected four saves in goal while Scherer picked up a defensive save as well.
- Tonight marked the first time this season for Eckerd to be on the receiving end of a shutout.
