LAKELAND, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team was swept on the road by No. 15 Florida Southern on Thursday, 9-0.
The Mocs (10-5, 3-2 SSC) took all three doubles matches before doing the same in singles play without dropping a set.
Taylor Selby and
Joyce Fields hung with 30th-ranked Selin Devrimci and Lorena Rionda before falling, 8-4, in No. 1 doubles.
Fields later nearly took Devrimci to a first-set tiebreaker in No. 2 singles but Devrimci avoided it with a 7-5 win. She then finished the match with a 6-0 win in the second set.
The Tritons (3-11, 0-8 SSC) return to action on Wednesday, April 4, as they visit Rollins for a 3:30 PM match.
