ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team returned to Sunshine State Conference play on Sunday, falling 7-2 to Nova Southeastern at the Bullard Courts.
Both of Eckerd's points came via default wins, one in doubles and one in singles.
NSU (5-8, 3-2 SSC)) scored wins in both doubles matches that took place by matching scores of 8-1. Â The Sharks then won five singles contests to wrap up the victory.
At No. 5 singles,
Laurence Bourgault put together a solid performance against Isabella Lowrey before falling, 6-2 and 6-3.
Bourgault and
Isabella Wong were credited with a default win at No. 3 doubles while
Cassidy Lear was credited with a default win at No. 6 singles.
The Tritons (2-8, 0-5 SSC)Â return to the court on Monday hosting Franklin Pierce (N.H.) at 10:00 AM.
