  • Chase Achuff got Eckerd on the board in the top of the fourth with a solo homerun, his first of the season, but the Mocs got the run back in the bottom of the inning.
  • FSC added runs in the sixth and seventh innings, extending its lead to 9-1.
  • Jake Romine roped a one-out double and scored on a single by Nick Conti in the top of the eighth, but Eckerd was unable to muster any more offense.  The Mocs added a final run in the home half of the eighth on an RBI double by Tommy Georgevich.
Game 2
  • Florida Southern took a 1-0 lead in the third on an RBI single by Austin Mauer and made it 3-0 in the fifth on a two-run shot by Pablo Cabrera
  • Eckerd brought an end to JJ Niekro's shutout bid in the sixth after Conti and Achuff hit back-to-back doubles with two outs.
  • Austin Mauer's sacrifice fly in the seventh scored Burgess, who led off the inning drawing a walk, extending FSC's lead to 4-1.
  • The Tritons came alive in the top of the eighth, scoring four times to take a 5-4 lead.  Achuff's infield single brought in Romine, who singled and stole second to lead off the frame.  EC scored three more runs with two outs, first on a single by Garrett Hiott and then on a two-run single by Shane LeMaster.
  • Logan Browning tied the game in the bottom of the eighth, leading off the inning with a solo homerun.
