Yalcin Scores Career-High as Eckerd Eases Past Florida Tech in SSC Quarterfinals

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. Ada Yalcin scored a career-high 22 points as the Eckerd women's basketball team cruised past Florida Tech in the quarterfinals of the SSC Tournament on Wednesday night at the McArthur Center.

The Tritons jumped out early building a modest lead for the majority of the first half and added to that cushion throughout the second half. The team's defense played a major factor in the win, holding the Panthers to a 28.3 shooting percentage.  It was the lowest shooting percentage Eckerd has held opponents to this season.

Yalcin, meanwhile, gave EC the offensive boost it needed to put the Tritons back into the conference tournament semifinals for the second year in a row.
