ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team faced a tall task on Friday in its spring season opener, hosting No. 2 Barry University.
The Bucs lived up their national ranking, earning a 9-0 win over the Tritons at the Bullard Courts.
Barry opened the afternoon by taking all three doubles contests, then swept singles. Â

Cassidy Lear also won a game in the first set against Judith Bohnenkamp.
Joyce Fields battled against Sonja Larson, the No. 1 ranked singles player in NCAA Division II.
The Tritons return to the court tomorrow, hosting Embry-Riddle at 12:00 PM.
