KEY MOMENTS
  • Eckerd got on the scoreboard early in the match when freshman Zach McLaughlin netted his first career goal.  Juan David Tejada ripped a shot from the right side which was stopped by SLU keeper Wessel Berenschot.  McLaughlin, coming down the left side, hurried to collect the rebound and sent it into the back of the net.
  • Saint Leo's Haydn Dickinson equalized the match in the 25th minute after punching in the rebound of a deflected Mathis Hardy shot.
  • The Tritons reclaimed the lead in the 37th minute when Galvao scored the first of his two goals via a cross from Agustin Pertusso.
  • Keeper Mason DeBaets helped preserve EC's 2-1 lead with a fantastic save just before halftime on a shot by SLU's Hermon Constant at close range.
  • Galvao added his second goal in the 59th minute on another pass from Pertusso.  This time, Pertusso slid the ball through a pair of defenders to Galvao inside the box and Galvao sent a strike past Berenschot inside the left post.
  • Dickinson scored again for the Lions in the 67th minute.  Elias Niesigk headed a long pass back to Dickinson, who took two quick touches and rifled a shot from 35 yards out that sneaked over the reach of DeBaets and under the crossbar.
  • Eckerd dodged a pair of equalizer opportunities before again taking a two-goal lead.  T.J. Soehn placed a perfect shot from distance inside the right post on a feed from Pertusso, his third assist of the match.
NEWS AND NOTES
  • McLaughlin and Soehn each scored their first career goals in the match.
  • DeBaets tied his career-high with six saves in earning his second win.
  • Pertusso's three assists were the most in a match for a Triton since Matheus Assumpcao assisted on three goals on September 3, 2016.
