ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.-

HOW IT ENDED
Final: Eckerd 73, Albany State 54
Records: Eckerd 10-2, Albany State 7-8
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game got off to a bit of a slow start as neither team scored until Armi Anttila's layup two and a half minutes in. From there, the Tritons heated up and didn't relinquish the lead for the rest of the night. Eckerd went on a 10-2 run to start the game highlighted by back-to-back 3's from Danan and Abby Whiteye. The Tritons outscored the Golden Rams by 13 points, ending the quarter with a 19-6 lead.
- Danan continued Eckerd's hot hand sinking a 3-pointer just six seconds into the second quarter to start a 9-2 Eckerd run. Eckerd went on another 9-2 run to end the quarter as Brooke Juday added two free throws in the final minute to extend Eckerd's lead to 22 points at the half, 39-17.
- Eckerd cruised early in the third quarter, seeing its largest lead of the night of 26 points twice within the period. The first came at the 5:57 mark after back-to-back 3's by Dallas Dickerson and Ada Yalcin and again with 5:00 left off a Kacie Juday layup. ASU used full court pressure to counter the Tritons' perimeter shooting, forcing EC into a bit of dysfunction toward the end of the quarter. The Golden Rams trimmed seven points off the deficit as Eckerd took a 56-37 lead into the final period.
- The two teams played even in the final quarter both scoring 17 points apiece. Eckerd pushed to a 22 point lead with 2:50 left on a Danan layup before Albany State ended the game with a free throw to give Eckerd a 19 point win.

QUOTABLE
"I was happy with how we bounced back from a tough loss to Lewis on Sunday. We defended well from the start and held them down through the first half. We also executed well and knocked down open shots. It was good to pick up another win before the break." - EC head coach
Paul Honsinger
