ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd women's basketball team topped its stellar 3-point performance from last night, knocking down 12 triples on Saturday in another 22-point win as the Tritons defeated Christian Brothers (Tenn.), 78-56, on Saturday afternoon in the McArthur Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After CBU scored the first basket of the game, Eckerd quickly went to work scoring 12 unanswered points in a stretch of under three minutes. In the 12-0 run, Eckerd drained back-to-back-to-back 3-pointers by Ada Yalcin, Brooke Juday, and Yalcin again. Chelsea Johnson then sunk a 3-pointer, EC's fourth of the quarter, with 2:35 left to put the Tritons up by 15 before Eckerd went into the second period with a 23-12 lead.
- The Tritons put the game out of reach early thanks to a 20-0 run to begin the second quarter. Yarden Danan fueled the streak, scoring all of her 14 points during the run including a trio of 3-pointers. Dallas Dickerson gave the Tritons their largest lead of the game of 34 points with 3:33 left in the half after knocking in a jumper. Eckerd eventually went into halftime with a 51-20 lead as Haeli Howard's driving layup beat the buzzer as time ran down.
- Eckerd's hot hand cooled a bit in the third quarter, but an 11-2 run late in the period gave the Tritons a 66-35 lead entering the final 10 minutes. The team's bench played the majority of the fourth quarter getting more valuable experience. The Bucs warmed up from the perimeter, making 4-of-6 behind the arc, and trimmed the final margin of victory to 22 points.
NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Eckerd shot 48.2 percent from the floor and made 12-of-25 from behind the arc while holding CBU to 30 percent shooting.
- The Tritons placed three players in double figures. Danan led Eckerd with 14 points, while Dickerson added 12 and Yalcin had 11.
- Kacie Juday was a force on the glass, grabbing 11 rebounds in only 17 minutes of action. Abby Whiteye grabbed six rebounds as Dickerson and Zoe Richards both had five.
- The Tritons made double-digits in 3-pointers for the second straight game. EC knocked down 11 yesterday before topping itself with 12 today.
