ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - After knocking off a nationally-ranked team last Saturday, the Eckerd volleyball team will attempt to repeat the feat on Friday night with a visit to No. 16 Palm Beach Atlantic before finishing the weekend at Nova Southeastern on Saturday.

BAKER'S THE BEST: JaQuayla Baker was named the SSC's top offensive player for last week, earning her first conference offensive player of the week award on Monday. Â The 6-foot-2 senior from Memphis, Tennessee, averaged 3.44 kills per set while hitting .450 and totalling seven blocks. Â She had 18 kills in EC's five-set win over No. 22 Florida Southern.
BALANCING IT OUT: Balance has been a theme this season for the Triton attack. Â The team enters the weekend with five players averaging between 2.0 and 2.8 kills per set. Â Senior
Katie Arnette (2.81) and junior
Lauryn Nelson (2.79) lead Eckerd's attack with
Kali Boatwright (2.64), Baker (2.43) and
Sarah Johnshoy (2.17) give the team plenty more options to generate points.

Kaitlyn Sibson has been one of the best back-row players in the conference since arriving at Eckerd in 2014. Â This year, the Tampa native currently ranks second in the SSC in digs per set (4.84) and has posted 20 or more digs in five of her 10 matches.
ABOUT PALM BEACH ATLANTIC: Last year's national runner-up in Division II, the Sailfish dropped their first three matches of 2016 before rolling off seven straight wins including two over Top 25 opponents. Â Ally Rohn leads the way for PBA averaging 3.83 kills per set and 3.47 digs per set.
ABOUT NOVA SOUTHEASTERN: The Sharks split their matches on SSC opening weekend, downing Lynn in four sets before dropping a five-set battle against Barry. Â Denvyr Tyler-Palmer has been a force, averaging 4.32 kills and 2.21 digs per set. Â Nova hosts Florida Southern on Friday ahead of Saturday's contest against the Tritons.
