Women's Tennis Defeated by No. 34 Tars

WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Eckerd women's tennis team visited Winter Park for a Sunshine State Conference matchup against the ITA No. 34 Rollins Tars.

The Tritons (2-13, 0-5 SSC) were unable to record their first conference victory of the season as they fell to the Tars (9-3, 1-0 SSC) by a score of 9-0.

Eckerd's No. 1 doubles duo of Emily Fridrik and MaryAnn Aaron battled hard against the Tars combination of Shannon Etten and Carli Davis, taking three games before falling  8-3.  Fridrik later took a pair of games against Etten, the No. 33-ranked player in Division II, in singles competition.

EC's next dual match is scheduled for Friday as the ITA No. 7 Barry Buccaneers visit St. Petersburg for a conference contest starting at 3:00 PM.
