Tritons Defeated by ITA No. 48 Augustana

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd Tritons women's tennis team were visited by the ITA No. 48 Vikings from Augustana (S.D.) University and fell by the score of 9-0.

The Vikings (14-1) have been on a roll this season winning six matches in a row after trumping EC (1-9), and head coach Ben Maxwell commends his six players for the effort against the nationally ranked opponent.

"It's nice to see the women giving every effort to compete and stay in matches," he said. "I am proud of everyone's attitude and efforts."

The Tritons return to action with a Sunshine State Conference matchup against the No. 7 Nova Southeastern at the Bullard Courts. The match is scheduled for a noon start on Saturday.
