TENNIS MATCH WEEK: Women Face Tough Challenges while Men Look to Keep Rolling

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd men's tennis team gets a chance to recover from a busy schedule with just one match on the week while the women face another difficult challenge against a pair of nationally-ranked opponents.

MEN'S MATCH 14: Saint Thomas Aquinas (7-6) at Eckerd (10-3) | Tuesday - 3:00 PM

WOMEN'S MATCH 10: No. 48 Augustana (S.D.) (13-1) at Eckerd (1-6) | Tuesday - 3:00 PM
WOMEN'S MATCH 11: No. 7 Nova Southeastern (8-1) at Eckerd | Saturday - 12:00 PM

LAST WEEK: The men's team achieved an historic milestone as the Tritons won their 10th match of the season when they swept the Merrimack Warriors on Senior Day after taking a trio of matches earlier in the week. The 10 wins in a season are the most in recorded history by any EC men's tennis team. On the women's side, EC fell in both of its contests to California Lutheran and Merrimack.

AUGUSTANA: The ITA No. 48 Vikings look to continue their hot streak in women's tennis as they seek their sixth consecutive team win. Their only loss of the season was a 5-4 defeat at the hands of 10th-ranked Southwest Baptist. AU's No. 1 doubles team of Kornel Staniszewska and Jessa Richards are the 7th-ranked doubles pairing in Division II. The Viking men will step onto the Bullard Courts with a 7-6 record as EC seeks its fifth win in a row.

NOVA SOUTHEASTERN: The Triton women face their second nationally-ranked opponent in as many matches as the Sharks from Nova Southeastern come to St. Petersburg for a Sunshine State Conference dual match. NSU is now on an eight-match win streak after its lone loss at the hands of the top-ranked Armstrong State. NSU boasts the No. 9 and No. 10 doubles teams in the nation with Nastassia Rubel and Irina Constantinide at No. 3 doubles as well as Petra Jurova and Sabrina Kierberg at the second position.
