ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd volleyball team begins the final week of regular season play tonight with a visit to Rollins College to face the Tars for the second time in five days.

SECOND TIME AROUND: Eckerd hosted Rollins on Friday night and scored a comfortable 3-1 win over the Tars to snap a five-match losing streak.  After pulling out a close 25-23 win in set one, the Tritons dominated set two for a 25-7 win.  Rollins stayed alive with a 25-19 third-set win but EC closed the door with a 25-18 win in the fourth.  Mackenzie Redner (17 kills), Stephanie Karlovics (15) and Kali Boatwright (13) led the Triton attack as Eckerd hit .342 in the match.

WEEKEND WARRIOR: Junior Mackenzie Redner had a big weekend for the Tritons as EC wrapped up its home schedule with a pair of wins.  Redner matched her career-high in kills twice, putting away 17 against Rollins on Friday and Embry-Riddle on Saturday.

RECORD WATCH: Junior libero Kaitlyn Sibson needs only two digs tonight to set a new program record for most digs in a season.  Sibson enters the night with 543 digs and is on the cusp of breaking the record she set last season.  The Tampa native currently holds three of the top four spots on the single-season digs list.

ABOUT ROLLINS: The Tars are looking to finish the season on a high note for first-year head coach Mika Robinson.  Junior Shannon McDonough recorded her 1000th career kill on Saturday in a loss to Florida Southern; McDonough, along with Bri Civerio, lead the Rollins attack.  Both have amassed over 400 kills this season.  Despite the 3-10 conference record, the Tars have been tough at home, nearly upsetting then-No. 15 Palm Beach Atlantic before losing in five sets.
