Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla. - After a scoreless 90 minutes, the Eckerd women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 overtime loss in non-conference play at Webber International (Fla.) Monday afternoon.
Despite a strong offensive presence on the road by Eckerd (5-6-1) with 20 shots, an early overtime goal sent the Tritons home with a loss. Eckerd was faced with a quick turnaround from Saturday night's overtime draw against Rollins and struggled to find the back of the net today against the Warriors (2-4).
The Warriors scored the golden goal just 30 seconds into the first overtime period with a high-flying shot from the 18-yard box. Eckerd goalkeeper Hailey DeBoe finished the afternoon with six saves in her first career start.
Freshman Olivia Ross-Johnson continued to provide a strong attacking force up front for the Tritons with five shots but was unable to convert. Ashley Kreinbring, Brooke Silvest and Stephanie Evans each posted three shots on the day.
The 1-0 result was the seventh by that score in Eckerd's 12 contests this season.
Eckerd returns to Sunshine State Conference play Wednesday, October 5, hosting Barry (Fla.) University at 7:00 PM.
