SECOND TIME AROUND: Tampa defeated Eckerd in St. Petersburg on September 16 in the first meeting between the two schools this season, 3-1, behind 21 kills from Allee Stelogeannis. Â The Spartans hit .308 in the match.
KILLER "B"s: Kali Boatwright earned her second SSC Offensive Player of the Week honor on Monday, joining
JaQuayla Baker as a repeat winner of the honor. Â Boatwright averaged 4.85 kills per set in EC's two matches. Â Between Boatwright and Baker, Eckerd has won four of the last six conference honors. Â Baker leads the team in total kills (200) and hitting percentage (.338) while Boatwright is tops in kills per set (2.90).
ABOUT THE SPARTANS: Tampa finds itself in a rather unfamiliar position this late in the season - not in first place in the conference. Â The Spartans, however, are only a game back in the standings and can pull closer with a win tonight. Â Stelogeannis leads the team's attack with 4.22 kills per set, ranking second in the SSC.
