ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - After a successful weekend at the South Region Crossover, the Eckerd volleyball team returns to conference play tonight with a visit to No. 25 Florida Southern for a 7:00 PM contest.

FIGHT FOR FIRST: The Tritons enter tonight's contest with a one-match lead in the Sunshine State Conference standings over Tampa, Saint Leo and Florida Southern. Â Saint Leo hosts Tampa tonight in addition to the EC-FSC contest. Â The Mocs can move into a share of the SSC lead with a win over Eckerd tonight, but at the same time, the Tritons can add a little extra cushion to their lead with a road victory.
FIVE-SET FINISH: Eckerd won the season's first contest between the schools in five sets on September 17 in St. Petersburg, hanging on to take the final set 15-13. Â
JaQuayla Baker led the EC attack with 18 kills while
Lauryn Nelson added 16. Â The Tritons won the first two sets of that match before FSC won the next two and forced a fifth set. Â It marked the second straight match between the two programs than went to five sets.
ABOUT THE MOCS: Florida Southern went 2-1 at the South Region Crossover, losing to Alabama-Huntsville in its final match of the weekend. Anna Tovo is one of the conference's most dangerous hitters, averaging 4.39 kills per set while hitting .238. Â As a team, the Mocs rank second in the conference in hitting percentage (.243) and blocks (2.08) and third in aces (1.65).
