RIVALRY RENEWED: Last season, the Spartans handed Eckerd its first loss in conference play by a 3-1 margin on October 14 in Tampa. Â The Tritons are looking for their third win over their bay area rival in the last six years. Â EC last defeated Tampa in 2014 winning on the road, 2-0.
ABOUT TAMPA: The Spartans opened the season on an eight-match unbeaten streak before falling to then-No. 15 Lynn (Fla.) at home, 2-1, on October 5. Â Tampa peaked at No. 7 in the NSCAA NCAA Division II Rankings, but dropped to No. 23 in today's latest poll following the loss to Lynn. Â Fredinho Mompremier is a dangerous striker, ranking third in the conference in goals (8) and in points (18). Â Jason Collister has added six goals, helping the Spartans to an average of 3.0 goals per match.
