Box ScoreST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd College women's tennis team was nearly shutout as
Erika Fridrik grabbed the lone victory in an 8-1 defeat against Palm Beach Atlantic on Sunday.
A highly skilled PBA (16-5) team took the lead in doubles, blanking all three EC (6-12, 0-7) slots before heading into singles play.
Competing from the No. 6 slot, Fridrik downed Dezi Bowman in single pro-set format, 8-3. The senior was quick to get ahead in the match and held the lead until the end.
"Erika played a great singles match and I am very pleased with her performance," said Head Coach,
Ben Maxwell. "She played within herself and stuck to her game, taking home a very positive win."
The women will travel to the University of Tampa on Wednesday for their final match of the season. EC will face off with the Spartans at 3 p.m.
