Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Eckerd College women's basketball team avenged an early season loss to Barry University on Saturday defeating the Buccaneers, 60-51, on the road.
It did not take long for the Tritons to take control of the game jumping out to a 10-0 lead from the jump. The Bucs battled back to make it a two point game before
Jordyn Alexander put in a layup keeping it a two possession lead.
A bucket from
Trine Kasemagi and a three pointer from
Victoria Vine put EC up by double digits. The Barry defense stepped up in the final four minutes of the first half not allowing the Tritons to hit another shot. The Bucs closed the gap and EC went into the locker room holding an eight point lead, 25-17.
The second half started fast and furious for the Triton offense going off on a 14-3 run spanning eight minutes to jump out in front, 39-20. The 19 point lead would be the largest of the game. Eckerd continued to keep separation on the scoreboard throughout the final minutes of play. Barry managed to grab a couple three pointers in the final minute to close the gap, but the difference was too great to make up with EC taking the game, 60-51.

Paul Honsinger. "I'm very proud of this team and what they've accomplished. We will continue to work hard in practice getting ready for our next opponent."
Kasemagi led all scorers with 21 points on the night shooting 60 percent from the floor including her fifth three pointer of the season.
Ivana Grbic was dominant on the boards grabbing a season high 15 rebounds while adding eight points and six assists. Eight different Tritons contributed on offense in the game.
Eckerd (20-6, 10-5) will be back at home for their final two games of the regular season. The team will host Saint Leo University (9-15, 4-10) Wednesday with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
